What does ISDN Stop Sell mean to your business?

BT Openreach have announced voice copper lines will no longer be available at 118 exchanges across the UK from 5th October 2021. From this date you will be unable to order new analogue or ISDN phone lines or add additional phone lines or channels to your existing telephone system. Many other services will no longer be available alongside no new supply, including working line takeovers, start of stopped lines, migrations, CP transfers, addition of broadband to copper voice lines, bandwidth modify, or addition of lines to existing installations.

Check the list of exchanges that will no longer be providing voice copper lines after 5th October 2021.

Why are ISDN services being withdrawn?

ISDN and analogue services rely on the old Openreach copper network that have been superseded by Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies that offer feature-rich cloud-based telephone systems.
BT Openreach will focus on digital systems only. That means that by 2025, they would have entirely switched off the ISDN network, and migrate to digital voice services. VoIP and SIP technologies offer much more advantages than ISDN can offer.

How to prepare for the BT ISDN switch off?

If you currently have a traditional ISDN based system, you will need to upgrade to an Internet based telephony. This can be to SIP trunks connected to an IP phone system or moving to a fully-hosted cloud system to give you greater flexibility.
Our fully hosted system offers the latest in voice over IP technology with all the benefits of being delivered by business connectivity experts.

Why you should switch to VoIP phone system now?

All organisations affected are going to need to make the transition to VoIP or SIP technology to future-proof their business communications. We highly recommend your business migrates from ISDN to VoIP sooner than later. This will ensure you avoid the hassle, headaches and higher costs associated with using an ISDN system. We offer a complete migration to VoIP or SIP, providing an impressive list of features to make your business communications an efficient machine.

Improved Service

Compared to the slower, outdated and now-neglected ISDN infrastructure, VoIP offers a much faster, smoother and more powerful service.

Flexibility & Scalability

You can add or remove users with ease. Plus, all you need is an internet connection so you aren’t limited by physical location.

Cost-effective

We don’t employ sub-contractors, so customers are fully supported by our engineers, who can build long-term relationships with you.
